Biography
John Connor joined The Nature Conservancy as Oceania Director in October 2026, leading TNC’s work across Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Solomon Islands. With more than 30 years of experience across climate, conservation, policy and organisational leadership, he brings a strong track record of building partnerships across government, business and the non-profit sector.
Before joining TNC, John held senior roles including CEO of the Carbon Market Institute and The Climate Institute, Executive Director of Fiji’s COP23 Presidency Secretariat, Campaign Director with the Australian Conservation Foundation, and most recently a senior executive with Australia’s Net Zero Economy Authority.
