As a Project Manager in the Oceans Program, Claire’s focus is on project/portfolio management reviewing design, procurement and construction methods, with a view to finding financial and operational efficiencies across Program activities, including the national Reef Builder initiative. These efficiencies will inform processes and feed into the establishment of a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) system for the Oceans Program.
Prior to TNC, Claire worked with Australia’s largest diversified property company as a Project Manager across a portfolio of complex projects and sectors including commercial, defence, government, infrastructure and retail. She is highly skilled in the development and implementation of project controls, team creation and leadership, complex stakeholder management, change management, and project/portfolio management.
Claire has a desire to explore new ideas, activities and experiences, increasing her personal knowledge; and to share these connections and learnings with others. With a particular focus on the environment and creating a more sustainable future. This focus initiated the transition from leading sustainability within the construction industry to being a part of conservation for Australia's Oceans with TNC.
Claire has obtained a Bachelor of Design (Interior Architecture) & Bachelor of Business, and works from North Fremantle in Perth.
Restoring shellfish reefs
Shellfish reefs are Australia’s most critically endangered marine ecosystem. Made up of billions of oysters and mussels, they once thrived in Australia’s bays and estuaries from Noosa in Queensland right around Australia’s southern coastline to Perth in Western Australia. Now less than 10% remain.
